...has officially eaten all the free time I had this semester. But I love it anyway. Fridays are now my favorite day of the week (as if they already weren't) I had never been to a school football game until this year. (I still refuse to count the time my middle school band went to a middle school game. That was just PATHETIC) And I haven't missed a game yet. I also hated riding the bus until this year. I LOVE when we go to away games or competitions. And because the band is so huge (18 buses) I've hardly sat with the same group of people twice. Me and Strawberry were adopted by an AWESOME senior flute player. I am really gonna miss him and all the other seniors next year...

The first competition we went to this year was the McKinney Marching Festival. Would you believe it? First competition EVER, and I tripped. And it wasn't my fault either. We were marching backwards during the drum break and the SENIOR behind me lost her balance and fell. I just so happened to step on her leg and fall over her, flat on my back. (Had to save the flute, you know) Thank God the there wasn't a domino effect.

The second competition of the year was the UIL Area Competition. Everybody got to know each other a lot that Saturday. 14 hours together, from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. The story rock game that was played had some interesting results. The rock turned into a freshman trumpet that was killed by our director, thus in committed suicide. (We were REALLY bored) I'm surprised we made it to finals in 7th place. Two people fell (a trumpet and a trombone if I remember right) and half our band exited the field the wrong way. I was in the half that went the wrong way and we had to sneak through a locked gate back to the parking lot. We marched in the finals and then somehow managed to cram everyone into a section of the stands to watch the other band. I can't say anything other than they were AMAZING. Sadly, we didn't make it to State having gotten 7th out of 10 and 7th out of 27 overall. I felt really bad for all the seniors. *sigh* There's always two years from now.

Boo Ball is next week. We get to wear our costumes to the games but it has to be space themed because our show is The Right Stuff. I'm gonna go as an original character just so I can wear the Edward Elric cloak we made. I'm gonna be an imperial guard for a vampiric race in Star Wars. Now all I need is a Light Saber...
